I have the highest admiration for the people of Minnesota. It's horrible what they're going through, but they are so strong to stand up- in incredibly cold weather- and show the world that they aren't going to let their rights be trampled.
Having lived in The Twin Cities on two different occasions, for two different companies, I know first hand that these people are polite, proud & strong. Nice tribute, thanks for sharing.
They make me more and more determined to speak up, attend rallies, help people register to vote, and every other thing I am able to do to fight against this maniacal government we now have! But most of all it makes me more mindful of the people around me: in my neighborhood, at the grocery store, the gas station, the postal delivery people, and my friends and family. Mindful that a smile and a kind word goes a long way in brightening someone’s day, and reminds me we are not an island, but a community that needs to care about our fellow humans.
For decades, in my heart, Minnesota has been the home of Garrison Keillor's "Lake Wobegon". My Sunday afternoons were filled with the Prairie Home Companion on the radio. His heartwarming, hilarious stories about simple, good, but funny, folk -- "Well, it's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegon" and the audience cheered. I'm so sad. The murders, the fear, I think trump and his Gestapo deliberately chose Minnesota because it is such a peaceful, friendly State. He drove away Lake Wobegon, "where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average." Don't let him win. We are fighting as best we can with you and for you. Love from New York.

That was so beautifully said! Music is MAGIC and blends all lines if we only pause a bit to hear it. Thanks so much!

Reading this was inspiring, and filled me with hope. I am no longer able to be out and about, and singing, but your words give me joy for all of us!

Could you leave information on saving the BWCA on your Substack. There is a vote coming up in the Senate. Thanks!
Will do, Joyce. Thanks for reminding all to keep up the public pressure.
I love this motto, but can we fix the grammar? Petty, I know.
Haha! I can see how that could ruin it for some. Does it help that the words are pulled from a poem?
