The Timeless Evidence Of Our Universal Worthiness
That no amount of political gaslighting can erase
Valuing nature is a gift.
It is part of seeing ourselves as a part of something bigger, and, though it may make us feel weak or insignificant with its grandness, it is a vital part of understanding our worth.
If we can treasure a herd of deer that wanders into our backyard, we are more apt to treasure the quiet parts of ourselves that delicately tread through our world with our beloved families.
If we delight in the birds singing sweetly above us, we might more happily take notice of how our own voices fill the air with unique thoughts and shared bursts of laughter.
If we take time to relish the feeling of the wind at our backs, the rain on our fingertips, the nip at our noses, or the sun warming our faces, we might remind ourselves of the absolute wonder it is to be a human in this world.
Of the gift it is that we exist and are part of it, no matter the extent to which we can change it. No matter what we build or produce with its resources. No matter how much money we have in the bank, or how powerful it makes us.
In a time where we might feel compelled to measure—or even prove—our worth by some politician’s standards of societal contribution, the natural world can also be validating. It is evidence that we all deserve to be where we are, to be who we are, and to live freely, without some imposed artificial order.
Sending strength to those who are battling the injustices of a world telling them otherwise. And love to Minneapolis today.
With love and hope for the future,
Stephanie
What messages does nature send to you these days?
How do you feel connected to this world?

Birds, squirrels, a hawk in the sky.. reminds us that there are beautiful things to treasure.
May I add to this the raccoons that tap on our window on these warm winter evenings to remind us they are hungry and live in a food desert where the hundreds of acres around us lie fallow until spring.
