Just finished watching Clearcut. This story is being similarly lived in communities across the country. And yes, of course it’s happening on the national level. It’s very sad.
Stephanie, thank you for the reference to 'Clear Cut' and for exposing the official trumpist rapists of the lands. Dad grew up in Merrill, northern Wisconsin where the lumber industry was dominant in the 100 years from 1883 onward, and much damage was done to the lands and waters. Mom grew up in Ironwood, Upper Michigan where iron mining was the major employer in town between 1888 and 1960, when the local industry went bust and the town nearly emptied.
There is a documentary video about the mines of Ironwood, produced by the Historical Society of Upper Michigan in about the 1980's which is not to be missed by the environmentalist.
Stories like your parents’ are so much of who we are as a country, and we need to pay better attention. Thank you for sharing that first hand experience.
I’ll add your film to my docket. Thank you for reading, Dennis!
All these vicious moves that Trump has made will come back and burn him and the Repugnant Party in many more ways than one! Buy your marshmallows now; they will cost more later!
Yeah, we all lose in different ways here, but they seem to be all in on a futile war. Our time will come. I’ll get some mallows :) thanks for reading, Rob!
