Gardening Failure - I can't find the will to prevent deer from eating my crops. They are lovely and always have fawns in tow. So I enjoy their enjoyment.

That sounds like its own kind of success. Thank you for sharing that peaceful perspective, and for reading!

"Trump is just a well-watered weed" says it all. And now I can identify the common weeds that grow around my house in their earliest stages and pluck them out while still small! But the sunflower to the left I use as my substack picture was a volunteer that grew in a pot that once contained herbs years prior. It grew from a single stem into a beautiful flower where there had been nothing for years. I hope we get some of those in November!

That’s wonderful, Celena! Your sunflower is a testament to the beauty our wild, unpredictable world can bring. I think we’ll get more of that once we clear out all the invasive overgrowth. Thanks for reading and sharing this sentiment!

I love the metaphor ❣️

Twenty years ago we moved into a little house in the woods and naively spent hours and a lot of money planting flowers, plants and vegetables that within 6 months were all weeds. We turned it into a ying yang symbol and enjoy it as a meditative experience.

MAGA might pluck this particular weed, but we would be wise to consider what noxious thing they had actually intended to plant, lest they persist.
